Eastern Deciduous Forest, Tall Grass Prairie
Habitat: stream banks, roadsides, and agricultural fields

Active chemical ingredient: ascorbic acid C6H8O6

Parts used: Leaves, flowers and seeds

Used for: snake bites, insect bites, diarrhea, sore throat, wounds

Preparation: leaf poultice to treat snake and insect bites, leaf infusion for diarrhea, gargle infusion for sore throat relief, infusion or decoction as a wash for wounds
